a word from joss whedon

Joss Whedon (creator of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), on the power of the Internet: "I'm counting on the Internet to destroy the music industry. That's its first job. Then I'd like to see it take on the movie world. I would have lived on the Internet as a kid. I would have been not me, which is what I wanted to be all my life."

where to begin?

in the last week, i went to two excellent shows; queens of the stone age/autolux at the wiltern and clutch/william elliott whitmore at the roxy. good times with lots of dopey crap that happened before and after that i love to jaw about. i even have pictures to share. people want to know what i thought on other blogs and messageboards and i have promised reviews to more than one site.

you'd think that would make me actually write something.

nah.

i have reviews backed up for miles, stretching back to last april and the club tour dates for nine inch nails and coachella leading up through the nin arena tour dates and those first shows i mentioned.

i notice that the more i think about how much i have to write makes me even more loath to do anything about it. i'm like that.

maybe later.

an explanation

i love music. always have, always will. hunter s. thompson refers to music as "fuel". that is what it is to me. i have been going to see live shows since very early in my life. when i go, i enjoy nothing more than to be in the front row. the better to get my mind and my ears blown. the title of this blog is a nickname given to me by the admins/mods of the board echoing the sound. i didn't start calling myself that.

they did.

so anyway, this is a compendium of my rock and roll life, which is different from my life as an actor and as a political junkie.

enjoy.
